church at watershed

Kim Emch from SON Ministries will be with us this Sunday.  she is the founder and the head of the organization that we at watershed will be working with in order to serve our community.  we decided as a church a few years that we would not be the kind of church that simply existed and met together for ourselves.  we set into motion a plan to give away 50% of our income, knowing that it would take serious work and sacrifice.  we set our budget up on a sliding scale in order to work our way from where we were until we get to giving away our goal.  the first year plan was to give 5% of our income away, and we ended up giving away 10%.  throughout a year of transition we still held to our giving strategy.  we chose to give to 3 systems of justice…anti-human trafficking, clean water, and local poverty organizations.
